This is not a joke, it is such a horrific story.
A dog was found in Greenville, South Carolina set on fire, chained up and had a cinder block on its head preventing it from moving.
The dog, who answers to Pookie, is being cared for at the North Greenville Animal Hospital.
Veterinarian Ann Malphrus said that the worst burns were on Pookie’s nose and that both of his corneas are damaged and scarring could cause him to go blind.
The house where Pookie was found was for sale, and the owners had said they left him behind to keep an eye on things….so basically they abandoned him.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting Pookie, contact Animal Care Services at 864-467-3950.
If you would like to assist with the cost of his care, call 864-467-3954.
We are pulling for you Pookie, we can’t believe someone would do something so terrible.
Warning: A heartbreaking and graphic image of the burned pooch… after the jump.
