Based on Donald Trump‘s cabinet picks, many feel he may be exploiting the presidency for his own financial interests.
But the same can’t be said for Alec Baldwin and his hilarious impersonation of the president-elect on Saturday Night Live!!
The actor has been receiving praise for his highly publicized incarnation of the incoming POTUS on the live sketch show — already nabbing a Critics’ Choice Award for the recurring role.

But despite the 58-year-old’s many accolades and veteran status on the NBC show, he actually doesn’t make all that much for appearing as the businessman-turned politician!
In a New York Times profile of Baldwin released on Monday, the actor discussed how he approached the role and the impact playing the cartoonish president-elect has had on him personally.
However, the biggest revelation from the staunch Democrat’s interview was that he only makes $1,400 for each appearance on the show!
Hmmm├óΓé¼┬ª we have a feeling Trump wouldn’t get out of his golden bed for that little amount of dough! Ha!
As for his impression, the 30 Rock alum said he’s chosen to study the way the 70-year-old moves and talks, and always attempts to boil the politician down to a pitchman — which, according to Baldwin, is the essence of who Trump really is.

The actor also dished on his main secret to the perfect Trump: acting like a man who is constantly in search of something better to say. He explained:

“I see a guy who seems to pause and dig for the more precise and better language he wants to use, and never finds it├óΓé¼┬ª It’s the same dish. It’s a grilled-cheese sandwich rhetorically over and over again.”

Though he’s received plenty of backlash for his impersonation — mostly from The Donald himself — Baldwin says he plans to continue playing Trump throughout his stint in office. He added:

“I think that now that he is the president, we have an obligation ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ as we would if it was him or her ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ to dial it up as much as we can.”

At least we have something good to look forward to in the next four years!
