Drake Receives A Giant Grant From The Canadian Government -- Wait, Doesn't He Have The Funds To Finance His Own Events?!

drake gets government funding grant
Is it just us or do they have odd policies in Canada?
Drake has been rolling in the dough ever since he made it big after Degrassi, but what’s this about the Canadian government giving him a $300,000 grant for his annual OVO fest?
He clearly can fund it all on his own, but apparently in Canada, this type of funding is totally normal.
A government initiative called, “Celebrate Ontario,” helps fund events and festivals in Ontario to make their programs better, and yes, the money does come from taxpayers pockets but it seems like they do it willingly!
According to the program, the grants are supposed to:

“Enhance programs, activities and services that will lead to long-term improvements. This support helps grown tourism in the province by making it easier for festival and event organizers to offer new and improved experiences that will attract more tourists and increase visitor spending.”

We might be way off base here, but we think, think, that Drizzy’s name alone can definitely attract more tourists.
How could he not?
The Hold On, We’re Going Home singer can attract a huge crowd faster than you can finish saying, ‘Drake is here!’
