Is it too late for Elizabeth Banks to say she’s sorry??
As we reported, on Tuesday, the Pitch Perfect star gave a speech at the Women in Film Los Angeles’ Crystal + Lucy Awards where she mistakenly said Steven Spielberg “never made a movie with a female lead.”

Of course, this isn’t true. The director’s 1985 film The Color Purple starred Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey.
Almost immediately, Twitter users BLASTED the actress for her embarrassing gaffe!
On Thursday, Banks issued an apology saying she “messed up” and takes “full responsibility” for what she said:
