Elizabeth Hurley knows we were all shocked to see her hard launch a relationship with Billy Ray Cyrus out of nowhere — but to her, they’re meant to be!
As Perezcious readers know, the unlikely couple surprised the world when they shared pictures together on Instagram this Easter, officially announcing their relationship to the world. With the Cyruses having so much drama of their own, plus the Achy Breaky Heart singer’s recent divorce, this was the last thing fans were expecting from him.

But despite all the controversy, these two seem so happy! And Elizabeth confirms it!
The Austin Powers star spoke to PageSix Tuesday while attending the Breast Cancer Research Foundation‘s Hot Pink Party — and opened up about her “surprising” relationship status:
“I think people found Billy and I being together a little surprising. It’s not surprising to me because we’re actually quite similar and get on extremely well. There has been quite a reaction.”
Aww! Who would’ve thought?

But, um… are they really so alike?! Yes! The 59-year-old revealed what she has in common with the country crooner:
“We both like to laugh a lot, and we both love the country. And we both love country music, both love movies. We’ve got a lot in common — and cowboy boots, definitely.”
In a second interview, speaking to DailyMail.com, the actress gushed:
“Billy’s a lovely man and we make each other very happy.”
She also echoed a similar sentiment to RTL TV, saying:
“We both love our kids. We’re happy together.”
They may bond over their kiddos, but they’re not planning to blend their fams, last we heard! Makes sense considering everyone is grown… and Billy Ray’s marriage history isn’t the greatest…
