If there’s one rule Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling’s daughter have to abide by, it’s NO SMARTPHONES!
The Place Beyond The Pines co-stars are NOT keen on introducing their young daughters to the world wide web anytime soon. In fact, they downright forbid it! Over the weekend, Eva spoke to the Sunday Times about her and Ryan’s daughters Esmeralda, 10, and Amada, 8, and how they’re not allowed to surf the web under ANY circumstances. Yes, even no matter how “extreme” that may sound! She told the outlet:
“Putting my kid on the internet and being like, ‘Oh, search something,’ that to me is equivalent to telling her, ‘Oh, just go down the street in the middle of the night. You’ll be fine.’”
Honestly… We can’t blame her too much. The internet can be a very dark, scary, and toxic place. So, if she feels her young kids shouldn’t be exposed to it, that’s her prerogative!

The 50-year-old added:
“I know that sounds extreme, but that’s what I feel.”
Eva and Ryan’s daughters are homeschooled and the Ghost Rider said she takes a “conscious parenting” approach to developing relationships with them rather than just barking orders. Coincidentally, that is something she’s been open about experiencing in her own childhood, and an issue of which she has wanted to break the cycle. But unfortunately, she’s aware her daughters will probably still “inherit” some of her “anxiety.” But that doesn’t stop her from constantly reminding them how lucky they have it! She told the outlet:
“I explain to them what I didn’t have, what Ryan didn’t have when he was little, how hard we had to fight, the dark days of being paycheck to paycheck, and this and that, but they’ll never really know unless they experience that.”
When she puts it like that, we’re sure not having a smartphone doesn’t seem so bad to them! LOLz!
