The surprisingly looooong road to the ’08 party nominations for President has allowed almost all ‘big named’ TV types the chance to moderate a debate.
But, a huge name is missing from the list of moderators — Katie Couric.
Couric is the highest-paid anchor on evening television and her absence from said list of peeps has the news world abuzzin’.
According to an industry source, CBS claims that Katie’s just a victim of circumstance. CBS was scheduled to host the Los Angeles DNC debates, but it fell through partly because of the little talked about News Writer’s Strike.
The president of CBS news stated, “I think [Ms. Couric] would have been really good at it. I think it would have been a good showcase for CBS News. But it just wasn’t to be this cycle.”
However, industry insiders and former CBS employees are asserting that CBS News just might not have the ’emotional and financial resources’ to give Katie what she needs to pull off a debate.
In other words, they think she sucks!
