Harry Styles Is Using The Coronavirus Quarantine To Learn Sign Language & More!

Harry Styles Coronavirus Quarantine Sign Language Italian

For many people around the world, after checking on their loved ones, of course, the first order of business is seeing how Harry Styles is doing.

Well, fear not, fans of the former One Direction member — he is doing just fine, even flourishing in quarantine with that perpetually chill, wise beyond his years demeanor of his.

BBC Radio 1 checked in on the international treasure on Wednesday, when he spoke to Fenn O’Meally on the 1Xtra Residency show, assuring everyone he is “very well, thanks.” But how is the Sign of the Times singer coping with these times?? He says:

“It’s a little difficult but it’s all right — I’m lucky I’m with friends in our little safe self-isolation pod.”

We hope not too many friends. At a certain point, it’s not exactly “isolation,” you know? From recent interviews about the recording process of Fine Line, it kind of sounds like he’s always surrounded by a group of buddies, so as long as they aren’t coming and going we guess it’s OK?

So what is the group doing? Basically treating it like an indefinite sleepover (which kind of sounds amazing). He says:

“It’s a very strange time but we’re just being careful, listening to music, playing games, doing some face masks — you know, the classic quarantine stuff!”

Wait, doing face masks? OH, he doesn’t mean virus protection face masks like Gwyneth Paltrow, LOLz!

No, we’re pretty sure when he’s talking about hanging out with friends at home he’s talking about DIY facials… right?

Please don’t make your own face masks.

Harry is still being productive, too. In a very inspiring moment, he explains he’s taking advantage of the extra free time in a super positive way:

“Now is the perfect time to learn a new skill and try a new hobby or something, right? We have nothing but time. I was learning Italian and doing some sign language classes.”

Wow, that’s a fantastic idea. You can get rudimentary language lessons on YouTube or on apps you can download — you never even have to leave your home! And best of all it’s a way of making it easier to connect with people while social distancing!

The music aficionado also shared a bit of his quarantine playlist, which includes the songs Blue World by Mac MillerCannock Chase by Labi Siffre, and Everyone Loves the Sunshine by Roy Ayers.

Do YOU have the silver lining of a ton of extra free time all of a sudden? How are you spending it? Let us know in the comments (below)!
