The rumors are true: Hunter Biden does have someone special in his life — and their love was so powerful, he got a tattoo to match hers within days after they first met!
Joe Biden’s son addressed his whirlwind romance with Melissa Cohen in a recent interview with The New Yorker, confirming the two tied the knot less than a week after their first date.
According to Hunter, it was truly love at first sight. Just days after meeting the South African filmmaker in Los Angeles, the 49-year-old got a tattoo on his left bicep (the word “shalom” in Hebrew) to match hers. Days later, he asked her to be his wife — and the Biden family apparently couldn’t be happier for them!
Per the outlet, Biden and Cohen wed on the roof of her L.A. apartment back in May using a marriage service, exchanging “the simplest gold wedding bands he could find” before calling up his dad to tell the former Vice President the news.

Big Joe, for his part, was apparently overjoyed by the sudden nuptials. Hunter grew tearful as he described the couple’s their first conversation with his father to announce they were married, telling the paper:
“He was on speaker, and he said to [Cohen], ‘Thank you for giving my son the courage to love again.’ And he said to me, ‘Honey, I knew that when you found love again that I’d get you back.'”

Elsewhere in the profile, which is based on “weeks of conversation” with Hunter, the lawyer got candid about his addiction struggles. He explained:
“Look, everybody faces pain. Everybody has trauma. There’s addiction in every family. I was in that darkness. I was in that tunnel — it’s a never-ending tunnel. You don’t get rid of it. You figure out how to deal with it.”
The new romance has been a breath of fresh air for Hunter, who has been through a rough patch in the years since the death of his older brother Beau Biden in 2015.
As we reported, the newlywed previously made headlines two years ago when he got very close to Beau’s widow, Hallie Biden. While the two enjoyed a hot, eyebrow-raising romance in early 2017, they split after only a few months, Hunter said.
Another controversy Biden’s been dealing with as of late is a paternity suit in Arkansas from a woman who claims the two “were in a relationship” and had a child born in August in Independence County.
The woman, Lunden Roberts, is petitioning the court to certify that Joe’s son is the child’s father and order him to pay child support — including health care costs — as well as her attorney fees. Hunter denies being the child’s father.
As for his new bride, the 32-year-old “seems very happy,” according to her father who spoke to tabloids earlier this month. He told press:
“I’ve only spoken to Hunter briefly. She’s a very special girl. She has lots of poise and she’s very present.”
