Jada Pinkett Smith Hit A Wall In Her Marriage 10 Years Ago & 'Redefined' Her Relationship With Will Smith!

Jada Pinkett Smith redefined her relationship with Will

Being your best self takes hard work — just ask Jada Pinkett Smith!
In a new cover interview with People, the Girls Trip star opened up about a breaking point she nearly reached over the course of her 21-year marriage to Will Smith
While actress never doubted her love for the Fresh Prince, she admitted there was a time about 10 years ago when she felt “depleted” from the stresses of juggling the family’s careers and following a conventional marriage paradigm.

She recalled of that time in her life:

“It just felt like loss. There was too much concentration on what was happening externally, and the family unit itself wasn’t getting the attention and care that I felt we needed.”

Although Jada was living a lavish life and rubbing shoulders with the nation’s elite, she got to a point where she simply couldn’t enjoy it. She revealed:

“Will’s like, ‘We just came from Oslo, going to the [2009] Nobel Peace Prize ceremony [for Barack Obama] as a family, you’ve got a big house with a lake– isn’t this amazing?!’ And I’m like, ‘No.’”

Despite her ever-positive husband’s efforts to remind her how blessed they were, the actress had hit a wall:

“By the time my 40th [birthday] came, I was like, ‘I can’t do it anymore.’ I was so depleted.”

The Red Table Talk host admitted she had thoughts of suicide at that time, but thankfully realized what she needed to do was take a step back and re-evaluate her life.
She explained:

“I had to really take time out for me and figure out what I wanted for myself. I had to kind of put everyone aside and ask, ‘What would I do every day if it was just Jada?’ I literally had no idea.”

One thing Jada did know, however, was that she and Will had the love to lift each other — and their family — to a healthy, happy state of mind:

“I am kind of a ride-or-die chick. I just knew with the kind of love that Will and I share — which is beyond romantic love — that we could transform our union and figure out how to re-create what we had.”

The 47-year-old admitted rewiring herself was “the most excruciating process” that took years — but her efforts paid off greatly.

She added:

“The journey between Will and me… we have come to such a beautiful place. I feel like we have a stronger bond than we even had in the beginning.”

Happy Jada, happy life!
