Jared Leto Takes Moral High Ground After Losing His Taylor Swift Sh*t-Talking Lawsuit Against TMZ!

The Joker isn’t going to laugh this one off.
Last December, Jared Leto filed a lawsuit against TMZ for posting a video in which he said he didn’t “give a f*ck” about Taylor Swift, claiming the clip was a “stolen copy” and “not meant to be publicly released.”
However, things didn’t work in the Suicide Squad star’s favor on Friday when a judge granted summary judgment to the website.

The judge ruled that the videographer was never Leto’s employee and did not agree in writing to give the actor ownership of the video before shooting it in September 2015.
But the Oscar-winner isn’t backing down! Over the weekend, the 44-year-old vowed to appeal the decision, saying in a statement:

“We are launching an appeal immediately and are confident the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals will reverse this decision. I hope that we will one day move toward a place where we ask how well we can treat one another rather than how badly.”

Despite the court’s ruling, Leto is holding firm that the website purchased “stolen goods,” adding:

“It was wrong of TMZ to purchase stolen goods. It was wrong of TMZ to exploit material that did not belong to them. Neither myself, nor the employee in question, have any confusion around the issue at hand ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ he was an employee who was hired to work for us and the footage he shot in the privacy of my home studio was owned by me.”

Well, if you can’t trash talk Tay in your own home, where can you do it!?

As for why the actor is taking a second swing at legal justice, Leto said that the ruling “rewards TMZ for their duplicity.” He continued:

“We decided to fight back because it was the right thing to do. Using antiquated laws to find loopholes that hurt, shame and slander people in the name of ├óΓé¼╦£news’ isn’t just a legal issue, it is a moral one.”

We understand his point, but even Taylor knows that people using your own words against you is the price of being famous!
