Jason Alexander Reveals To Howard Stern Why George's Fiancé, Susan, Was Killed Off On Seinfeld! Find Out HERE!

Jason Alexander George Susan
We always wondered….
On Wednesday night, Jason Alexander talked a bit with Howard Stern on his talk show about, well, what else…Seinfeld!

Alexander, who played George on the hit sitcom, even spilled some details about why his fianc├â┬⌐, Susan, played by Heidi Swedberg, was suddenly killed off in the show. And by suddenly we mean she was accidentally poisoned by the glue on George and Susan’s wedding invitations.
Believe it or not, she wasn’t just offed for comedic effect or anything, it was actually because she was difficult to do scenes with! Jason shared:

“I couldn’t figure out how to play off of her. Her instincts for doing a scene, where the comedy was, and mine were always misfiring. And she would do something, and I would go, ‘OK, I see what she’s going to do ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ I’m going to adjust to her.’ And I’d adjust, and then it would change.”

It was only three episodes into Swedberg being a part of the show that the creator, Larry David informed Alexander that the long-term plan would be for the couple to eventually wed. You can imagine that Jason wasn’t too happy hearing this. She ended up being on 16 episodes in season 7 before her death by envelope.
Since Jason was the main person who had scenes with her, it apparently took a while for others to see the same problems with Swedberg. But later in the season, when the writers were figuring out what to do with the character of Susan in the group dynamic, Jerry Seinfeld and Julia Louis-Dreyfus shared a number of scenes with her and saw what Alexander was talking about.
Alexander says of their reaction:

“They go, ‘You know what? It’s f├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ing impossible. It’s impossible.’ And Julia actually said, ‘Don’t you want to just kill her?’ And Larry went, ‘Ka-bang!'”

But there was no bad blood, as Jason says he “cringes” when he tells the story as he thinks, “Heidi is the sweetest,” they just had different approaches. Well we guess that mystery death is solved and sealed *wink!*
Are you happy they got rid of Susan or do you think she added something to the show and should have been kept around?
