Jennifer Lopez & Alex Rodriguez Staying Positive After Postponing Wedding -- By Purchasing The Mets!?

Jennifer Lopez Alex Rodriguez postpone wedding buy mets

Stars really are just like us, which means all of their plans have been halted by coronavirus, too… but unlike some stars, you probably aren’t taking your mind off things by buying a whole baseball team!

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are among the many couples whose wedding plans have been disrupted by the worldwide pandemic. According to a source for Entertainment Tonight, the couple were planning to have a summer wedding.

ARod confirmed to ET they’ve been trying to figure out their nuptials, as well as tour plans or potential movies in the works. He explained:

“We had a meeting on Zoom with our core [group of people], kind of just going over what the next 12 months look like and we have three or four different variations of how that can look.”

He admitted the virus has thrown the Lopez-Rodriguez clan off their game, saying:

“It’s such a fluid world. Usually when you underwrite a year — whether [in terms of] scheduling or financially — you never think that it’s going to just stop like this. So we’re having to be very fluid, think on our feet and just think very proactively.”

Apparently, “thinking proactively” for these stars means making some HUGE business decisions — like purchasing the New York Mets!

Variety has reported the superstars retained JPMorgan Chase to raise capital for a possible bid on the team.

According to TMZ, the purchase would be “strictly a business decision” rather than a vanity project. The former Yankee would turn the technical aspects of running a team over to “people who know better than him.” For his part, he’d be more of a “people manager” and work with the players directly.

TMZ also reports that Jenny From The Block and her fiancé are putting up a “relatively small percentage” of their own money, and looking for investors to contribute “somewhere between $25 million and $50 mil”. After that, they’d have a bank finance the rest of the balance.

Meanwhile, the stars’ personal chef Kelvin Fernandez told US Weekly that the pair is trying to “put a positive spin” on the wedding delay. He claimed:

“They had to push it back, which is OK, but you know, they had to for a reason. The faster the United States gets quarantined fully, the faster we get out of this.”

Hear, hear!

We need to flatten the curve ASAP so we can get these two crazy kids down the aisle!
