If the love album flopped, surely a breakup album will do better, right?? After all, it works for Taylor Swift — aka, the biggest pop star in the world right now…
Jennifer Lopez is reportedly ready to dive headfirst into her music again — but instead of gushing about her luvvah Ben Affleck, she’s going to be getting real about their split! According to a source for The US Sun on Tuesday, Jenny from the Block‘s new music is going to be her “most emotional yet.” They spilled:
“This album is going to be all about heartbreak. Fans are going to get the real story through her music.”
Hinting at what’s to come, the music insider added that she’s trying to get the same kind of attention Justin Timberlake did after his split from Britney Spears. They said:
“Jen really wants that Cry Me A River-type ballad.”
You mean the song JT wrote about Brit’s rumored cheating scandal? We wonder if that’s also a hint at what happened… Hmm…

Interestingly, another insider rejected the idea that music is on the way, saying that the actress is “focused on this next film coming out,” referring to her movie Unstoppable, which just premiered at TIFF. It’s produced by Ben, and while that has to be a bit awkward and they’ve avoided promo together thus far, it’s still her main priority right now. Knowing Jen, we wouldn’t be surprised if music is in the works, too, especially if she ever wants to try to go back on tour again. After all, this is a woman who can multitask. Also, working has been really good for her, the first insider added:
“She needs to be working. She’s happiest when she’s working.”
Always good to have a distraction amid a life crisis like a divorce! And we’re sure, whenever she’s ready, that music will be a fantastic outlet.We just see one small problem with this plan… As far as we can tell (based on her weekend activities), the girl doesn’t seem so heartbroken after all!
As Perezcious readers know, the exes shockingly stepped out together with most of their kids for brunch on Saturday, where Ben and Jen reportedly kissed! J.Lo was then seen on Monday looking as happy as we’ve seen her since split rumors surfaced earlier this year.

Sure, they are reportedly still moving forward with the divorce, but there’s clearly some real chemistry there! So, who knows what’s gonna happen? Maybe they’ll figure out a way to make this work. They’re obviously not totally over each other!
So with that in mind, it doesn’t seem like the Let’s Get Loud vocalist is in the right mindset to be writing breakup songs just yet! That said, we wouldn’t say no to hearing her version of the story. There’s still so much unknown about what went wrong in this romance — and if she’s planning to lay it all out there like Cry Me a River, then it’s bound to be juicy!
People love a scandal, so we have to imagine there’d be a ton more interest in these upcoming songs than in her latest album. What do ya think, Perezcious readers? Sound OFF (below).
