Lauren Conrad Reveals How Being Married Has Changed Her For The Better

Lauren Conrad covers Redbook‘s July issue with some tips on party-planning.
But the much juicier info involves her husband, William Tell, and how he’s taught LC to compromise more readily. We have a feeling Lauren will be writing a marital advice book next.

The designer has been learning to compromise now that she’s throwing parties with her significant other. She said:

“Now that I’m throwing parties with my husband, William, I have to keep in mind that he prefers├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥how do I say this├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥easier themes than what I’ve done in the past. He doesn’t like to feel that he’s asking friends to go out of their way. So now we do a birthday hoedown because everyone owns a pair of cutoffs and a plaid shirt. I’m learning how to compromise.”

Though the couple is mostly on the same page, they don’t understand all of each other’s quirks. And that’s okay!

“I have a collection of teacups I display in my dining room. My husband doesn’t get why I love them so much. To be fair, I don’t share his passion for guitars. I mean, I guess I can understand why he might not see the beauty in a gorgeous, hand-painted teacup. [Laughs] We each have our own things, and that’s healthy.”

It is healthy! You don’t ever want to become a carbon copy of your spouse.
And finally, we might as well get some party-planning tips while we’re here. The trick is to relax and not be too picky, according to Lauren:

“I always try to make sure that the party I’m putting together isn’t perfect. Anything that looks too put-together is too fussy for me. If it feels fussy, then people might not be comfortable. A successful party is about comfort and making people feel welcome.”

We have a hard time believing that when the 30-year-old is always impeccably put-together and has an Instagram feed that looks like a meticulously curated Pinterest board.
