Would You Have Liked To See Leonardo DiCaprio In Moulin Rouge & Hocus Pocus? It Could've Happened!

If you’ve seen Wolf of Wall Street, you know there’s pretty much nothing Leonardo DiCaprio CAN’T do!
Well, except for sing and star alongside three sister witches, that is!
Turns out, Leo missed out on being in two CLASSIC movies: Hocus Pocus and Moulin Rouge!
ZOMG!
The Oscar nominee spilled recently about how he actually TURNED DOWN the chance to play Max Dennison in the Disney Halloween cult fave! He explained:

“[I was] offered more money than I ever dreamed of.”

Well then why didn’t he jump at the chance to work with Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker?!
Leo decided to not do Hocus Pocus so that he could instead audition to be in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape with Johnny Depp!
He continued:

“I don├óΓé¼Γäót know where the hell I got the nerve. You live in an environment where you├óΓé¼Γäóre influenced by people telling you to make a lot of money and strike while the iron├óΓé¼Γäós hot. But if there├óΓé¼Γäós one thing I├óΓé¼Γäóm very proud of, it├óΓé¼Γäós being a young man who was sticking to my guns.├óΓé¼┬¥

The part got Leo his first Academy Award nomination at the age of 19 so, it’s a good thing he stuck to his guns!
And just as Leo sticks to his guns, Australian director Baz Luhrmann stuck to his, when Leo FAILED his audition for Moulin Rouge!
While trying out for the role of Christian (which eventually went to Ewan McGregor) LD proved that his acting talent and his singing talent are on opposite ends of the spectrum!
He admitted:

“To be honest, I├óΓé¼Γäóm not really prepared to do a musical, simply because I think I have a pretty atrocious voice. But we had a friendly thing where it was me and [Baz] and a piano player, and we tried to sing a song together. It didn├óΓé¼Γäót go too well. I think it was ├óΓé¼╦£Lean on Me,├óΓé¼Γäó and when I hit the high note, he just turned to me [and said], ‘I don├óΓé¼Γäót know if this conversation should continue.├óΓé¼Γäó├óΓé¼┬¥

Aw well. He can’t carry a tune but our boy can DEFINITELY carry a movie!
But will he be carrying an Oscar home from the Academy Awards next month?
