Liam Hemsworth continues to lean on his support system in Australia on the heels of his split from Miley Cyrus — specifically, the support of singer Delta Goodrem!
An insider close to The Hunger Games star told local tabloid New Idea he’s been in contact with 34-year-old performer whose “good energy” has been helping carry the actor through this devastating breakup.
Now, it’s unclear exactly what the dynamic is between Liam and the Born to Try songstress, who is in a happy relationship with musician Matthew Copley. The source insisted the two are close pals and “go way back,” but Delta is still planning to meet up with Liam “in secret” and be there for him as a friend.

Hmmm… giving your friend support after a tough breakup is one thing; but doing it in secret? Sounds a bit sketchy, if you ask us!
Then again, their rekindled friendship sounds innocent enough according to the source, who said:
“They’ve spoken a fair bit recently and they go way back. He just wants to surround himself with people like Delta, people who make him feel good about himself and have good energy.”
Sounds like Hemsworth is in dire need of that good energy, as the media has been eating up every salacious detail of his breakup with Miley.
Not even two weeks after their split first broke, the Slide Away singer was accused of cheating on the 29-year-old actor with her current girlfriend, Kaitlynn Carter. Miley denied these rumors in a recent string of social media posts, revealing she let Liam slide away after realizing it was time to “leave a previous life behind.”

Claiming how “there are NO secrets to uncover” in the downfall of their relationship, she wrote:
“I can accept that the life I’ve chosen means I must live completely open and transparent with my fans who I love, and the public, 100% of the time. What I cannot accept is being told I’m lying to cover up a crime I haven’t committed. I have nothing to hid… But the truth is, once Liam & I reconciled, I meant it, & I was committed. There are NO secrets to uncover here. I’ve learned from every experience in my life. I’m not perfect, I don’t want to be, it’s boring. I’ve grown up in front of you, but the bottom line is, I HAVE GROWN UP. I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. Liam and I have been together for a decade. I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will.”
As we reported, Liam filed for divorce last week and has been seeking solace Down Under in the months since their separation. In addition to apparently talking to Delta, the star’s been surfing, hanging out with his mates, and spending time at his brother Chris Hemsworth’s house.
It’s good to hear the actor’s expanding his Aussie network. We wonder if this means Liam really is planning on moving back there for good?
