With all the attention on #TheDress, we almost forgot about the other gossiped-about gown — Lupita Nyong’o‘s Oscars dress.
The pearl-encrusted couture Calvin Klein was stolen from the actress’ hotel room on Tuesday.
Well, the dress has been found … to be a fake!

The thief who took the gown says he took the dress from Lupita’s room at The London after finding the door ajar.
He told TMZ he removed two of the 6,000 pearls from the dress to have them authenticated in downtown Los Angeles’ garment district — and they were reportedly found to be fake.
So much for the gown’s estimated $150,000 value!
After tipping TMZ off about the hoax, the thief returned the much less valuable dress to the London hotel, where it was left in a bathroom. The thief tipped them off because he wanted the world to know “Hollywood’s fake bullsh-t.”

What a sad end for such a beautiful gown. Calvin Klein has yet to comment. The L.A. County Sheriffs are investigating the case.
At least we know it’s white and not black and blue.
