This is not the ending we were expecting.
Remember how thieves made off with Lupita Nyong’o‘s Calvin Klein Oscars gown only to return it after finding out the pearls were fake?
Well, apparently that’s the end of the story!
While the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s office was conducting an investigation into the crime, a rep from Calvin Klein supposedly called the police department to say they have decided not to pursue charges after all.

Guess now that they have the infamous dress back, that’s all that matters — which means the culprits get off scot-free!
But we can only imagine CK wants the ordeal over, especially since the whole world now knows the gown was made from fake pearls.
Hey, it’s still gorgeous and deserves to be in a museum!
Someone get on that.
