You won’t see Chris Hardwick at San Diego Comic-Con this year, but you’ll probably see him on TV again soon.
At least that’s what his wife Lydia Hearst said when she defended the Talking Dead host at Variety‘s Comic-Con Studio Thursday morning.

As we reported, Hardwick’s shows are currently on hiatus while AMC conducts an investigation into his behavior amidst allegations from Hardwick’s ex-girlfriend, Chloe Dykstra, that she experienced sexual and emotional abuse during an unnamed relationship.
Noting that both she and Hardwick were “extremely optimistic about” the result of the investigation, Hearst reiterated her support of her husband, saying:

“I’ve known him to be nothing less than absolutely loving, compassionate, supportive, not just to myself, but to everyone he knows and works with. He’s a genuinely good man with a good heart.”

Not only are they hopeful about the investigation, Hearst thinks it won’t be long until fans see Hardwick on the air again:

“I think fans can expect to see him back on the air soon and maybe hopefully back at Comic-Con next year.”

We’ll see what happens.
