Talk about an all-star cast! It pays to be well connected, eh Ryan?!
The man behind Eat, Pray, Love and Glee is adding two more very well respected names to the roster of his film adaptation of Larry Kramer’s play The Normal Heart. The film already totes Julia Roberts, Alec Baldwin and Mark Ruffalo as the leads of the flick, but now, Emmy-winner Jim Parsons and sexy stud Matt Bomer have also been cast.
Originally staged on Broadway in 1985, this landmark production turned flick about the AIDS epidemic in New York (not set to music) will find Mark as the “Kramer stand-in” Ned Weeks, Alec as his brother and Julia as Dr. Emma Bookner, a role that won a Tony Award for Ellen Barkin.
It’s sure to be a powerful peace, one that will elicit a lot of controversy and chatter from both sides. Then again, when has Ryan Murphy ever veered away from anything controversial! We’re pleased he’s at the helm of this! Can’t think of anyone more well-suited for the task.
