Baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is getting christened this week!
On July 6, the newest addition to the royal family will be christened at the age of two months with his family in attendance in Queen Elizabeth‘s private chapel at Windsor Castle.

A royal inside source shared with People that proud parents Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are preparing for the occasion this week, and “wanted an intimate, peaceful setting in a place with such a special connection to Her Majesty.”
The private chapel holds a lot of meaning for the couple, so we can understand why they chose it!
The room was originally created between 1840 and 1847 for Queen Victoria, and was later destroyed by a fire in 1992 before being rebuilt in 1994. St. George’s Chapel, also on Windsor Castle grounds, is where Harry was christened in 1984 — and where the happy duo said ‘I do’ in May 2018!
The insider continued:
“This is a beautiful milestone and they are excited to share it as a family first and then with the world.”
Typically, royal christenings are private with only close family, friends and godparents in attendance, with photos released to the public the day after. We can’t wait to see pix of the whole family!
Currently, it’s unclear who the lucky godparents will be, but we have a few ideas! Likely high in the running are George and Amal Clooney, who are both close friends with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

While the former Suits star was still pregnant, Amal was one of Miz Markle’s friends who threw her a luxe baby shower in NYC, and even gave her a lift back to London on a private flight following the festivities. As for the Ocean’s Twelve actor, he’s been outspoken about how his friend has been treated by the press, even comparing her treatment to that of Princess Diana, who was killed after a paparazzi chase in Paris in 1997.
Another front-runner could be Oprah Winfrey! The longtime daytime TV host is a close friend of the couple, and — like George — has also denounced the media’s coverage of the new momma. The couple is currently in collaboration with the 65-year-old mogul on a new documentary series focused on mental health, set to launch in 2020, so they’ll be close for the next few months anyway.
Could you even imagine Oprah being your godmother?! You’d probably only be disappointed if you found out it could have been Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas! LOLz!

Of course, bestiez Jessica Mulroney and Serena Williams are also likely in the running for the coveted godmother title.
