Seriously, what is it with NFL players and DUIs?!
It’s almost getting to the point where the NFL should step in and require all players to take drunk driving education classes or something.
Alameda Ta’amu, a rookie for the Pittsburgh Steelers is faced with some pretty serious charges.
He was apparently seen by an off-duty cop, swerving and driving recklessly.
Apparently, another cop approached the car when it had slowed down and he drew his gun and yelled: “Police! Stop the vehicle!”
Alameda apparently then swerved and sped away in the wrong lane of traffic!
The cops were able to chase the vehicle down on foot as it plowed into several other vehicles!
A witness said:
“He hit three or four cars. He was just pinballing up the street, apparently; I mean, tow trucks were here, for hours.”
Several people were injured and needed medical attention. We hope they’re okay!
After he crashed into a fourth car, he hopped out of the car and made a dash for it.
The cops caught up to him and violently subdued him.
He is currently in jail facing fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, aggravated assault by a vehicle while DUI, aggravated assault, and resisting arrest and escape.
We can almost guarantee that he’ll be doing some real jail time.
DUI, a great way to throw away a promising career and nearly kill others.
STOP DRINKING AND DRIVING!
