Orb!!
Orb the horse won the 139th kentucky derby on Saturday!
It was a cloudy, cool afternoon at Churchill Downs when the “fastest two minutes in sports” was run.
Orb, lead by jockey Joel Rosario, ran the one and a quarter mile track in 2:02.89.
He was a 5-1 favorite, so we bet some people made a whole bunch of money!
Another horse named Normandy Invasion took the lead from Orb right before the home stretch but Orb revved things up and overtook him, running right into horse racing history!
Orb was trained by Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey, who grabbed his first win in the 3-year-old horse racing classic when Orb won.
Congrats to the jockey, owner and trainer but mostly to Orb!! Woo!
