So sad!
Miesque, a two-time Eclipse Award winner and Breeders’ Cup champion, was euthanized because of medical problems from old age at 27-years-old.
She was one of the top female runners who won the consecutive Breeders’ Cups in 1987 and 1988 and won 12 of 16 lifetime starts, never finishing outside the top three.
After winning more then $2 million in purses, she retired after the 1988 season and became a highly successful broodmare.
Miesque was put down Thursday and buried in the cemetery at Lane’s End Farm.
R.I.P. girl.
