Sochi Kills Thousands Of Stray Dogs For Winter Olympics To "Clean Up The City!"

Sochi kills thousands of stray dogs for Winter Olympics cause they're just awful.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a stray dog genocide happening in an Eastern European country.
Sadly, it probably won’t be the last either.
Russia doesn’t have the right idea about a lot of things generally when it comes to rights – both human and animals rights.
That’s why the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics are so controversial. Not only is the country not changing its ridiculous anti-gay laws, they’re killing dogs.
Sochi officials announced they’d cull 2,000 strays cats and dogs in an effort to clean up the city.
People obviously flipped out and the city called it off, but unfortunately they didn’t. They just passed on the contract to a private company who started killing dogs.
A reporter from CTV said:

“Every year, just in this municipality, thousands of dogs and cats are killed. They are shot, poisoned, even beaten to death with shovels or stabbed with knives. They are hit, kicked and just generally abused.”

Activists are pushing for the Russian government to open a shelter for these animals, so they can be neutered, immunized and then adopted into good homes.
Except there’s one little problem… the shelter would end up being run by the same company that was hired to kill the dogs!!
