Between her career as an aspiring model, fashion designer, and singer — Sofia Richie has definitely got her own thing going on.
But all anyone can seem to talk about it her budding relationship with Justin Bieber (guilty) and how the 18-year-old got so serious so fast with the controversial singer.
Talking with Billboard just before her PDA-filled Mexico getaway with the Cold Water singer (in an interview published today), Lionel Richie‘s daughter confessed:
“We have a special relationship. Justin is very easy to talk to, and that’s hard to find with people in Los Angeles.”
That’s fair — the blonde beauty probably sees a completely different side of the pop star (even though we’ve seen him from pretty much all angles)!

Switching gears, Sofia also opened up about taking a step back from focusing on her music as she felt a lot of pressure connected to her poppa’s legacy.
She remembered Lionel inviting over his famous pals — including his son-in-law Joel Madden — to help steer Sofia toward singing:
“One night he intercoms me, like, ‘Come have dinner in the studio.’ So I go down and it’s my dad and Pharrell. I’m like, ‘I can’t just sit here and casually have a dinner with you two! I’m so sorry, I’ve got to go back upstairs.'”
Casual… We’ve all been there, right?! LOLz.
She explained:
“It was the best I could have asked for, but there was too much pressure. Everyone had their own idea of what my music should sound like, and I just wanted to be an individual. I stepped back and said, ‘I need to re-evaluate this.'”
