Three-Day-Old Baby Elephant Weighs 250 Pounds!!

The St. Louis Zoo is now the proud owner of a brand new baby elephant!!
The little cutie baby girl was born to Ellie, a 42-year-old Asian Elephant.
The calf is just about 38 inches tall and weighs 251 pounds! That’s a big baby!
The curator of mammals at the zoo said:

“The baby appears healthy and is already walking around well. As an experienced mother and grandmother, Ellie was very nurturing, caring for her newborn baby from the very beginning. She did a great job.”

Aww! So sweet!
The two have apparently been hanging out, spending all their time just bonding together.
The little baby is a brand new calf too, she was only born last Friday!!
Because Asian elephants are endangered, every newborn is a gift!! Congrats, mama Ellie!
