Famed producer Timbaland has battled many things in his career.
But he has also been a smashing sucess in the music business.
Working with the likes of Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliot, Nelly Furtado, and Dr. Dre, he has been a force since the early 90s.
With E!’s True Hollywood Story, Timbaland reveals some of his demons.
He admits to loving the late Aaliyah but chose to be a big brother type.
He states the following:
When I first met Aaliyah├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥it time for the world to hear this, I’m gonna give a little secret├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥I was in love with her. I said, But I’m not├óΓé¼┬ªShe just a baby, I’m old. I said to myself, ‘I’m just gonna be her brother.’ Oh man, I was fightin’, I was fightin’ a lot├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥a big war. But I loved Aaliyah.
Aaliyah signed a record deal at 12 and allegedly married R. Kelly at 15.
She tragically passed away at 22 in a 2001 plane crash.
Timbaland also talks about his weight and his suicidal thoughts.
I was almost 400 pounds. Who wants to be a 400-pound black man? I’m looking in the mirror, my breast is bigger than a girl breast. And I was saying, ├óΓé¼╦£That ain’t cool.’ So I got very depressed, like suicidal depressed.
But now, the superstar producer is married and healthier.
Timbaland’s Story airs Tuesday, December 20th.
