Troy Gentry, half of the country music duo Montgomery Gentry, is in trouble for killing a bear.
Lee Marvin Greenly, owner of the Minnesota Wildlife Connection had a black bear named Cubby, who had developed dental problems.
Greenly decided that instead of paying for dental treatment, it would be easier to have someone kill him, and apparently he knew who to ask.
Troy Gentry was asked by Greenly to kill Cubby, but make it look like he shot a bear in the wild. A video produced from the hunt showed Gentry using a bow and arrow to shoot the bear.
When authorities found out that Cubby was actually a tame bear, and not a bear in the wild, Gentry pleaded guilty to falsely registering the bear as having been shot in the wild, paid a $15,000 fine, and had his bow and stuffed bear confiscated.
We find this so sad, why do people have these animals if they don’t want to care for them?
The group Showing Animals Respect and Kindness got hold of a video and pictures that were used by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to investigate the case and released on YouTube.
