U.S. Women's Hockey Nabs Olympic Gold Medal From Canada For The First Time In 20 Years -- See The Celeb Reactions!

What a HERstorical win for Team USA.
On Thursday in South Korea, the U.S. women’s hockey team won the gold medal after beating Canada in a historic match at the 2018 Winter Olympics. In case you were unaware, our neighbor to the north has won the last FOUR Olympic gold medals in this event. So it’s, truly, a big deal.

And both teams certainly put up a fight. Not only did the game go into a 20-minute overtime, but the extra time ended in a 2-2 tie thanks to a penalty shootout. During a sudden-death shootout, forward Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson delivered the winning goal.
Canada similarly beat USA 3-2 in overtime at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. This is the first gold medal for the U.S. women’s hockey team since 1998. So it’s no wonder that numerous celebs — including Olivia Munn, Hailey Baldwin, Josh Gad, etc. — have celebrated the female athletes’ achievement on Twitter.
