What do you call someone who steals models? A model mugger? A cat(walk) burglar??
Hard to say, but apparently that’s what Women Model Management is accusing their former employer, Ali Kavoussi, of being!
The 38-year-old decided to leave WMM last year to start his own modeling agency, The Lions. He broke his contract by leaving a year early, but WMM allowed it if Ali agreed to stay away from their models and staff.
Ali was also permitted to take models Jessica Hart, Irina Shayk, Guinevere Van Seenus, Angela Lindvall, and Anne Vyalitsyna with him.
But Ali allegedly almost immediately began to try to take more — seducing other models in addition to some employees, as WMM stated:
“From the moment he entered into the separation agreement, Kavoussi has repeatedly and intentionally violated the agreement.”
Earlier this year, WMM sent Ali a warning letter, which resulted in an apology from him.
But according to his former employers, the apology was meaningless as he continued his attempts at signing their talent.
The whole issue has now turned into a full-blown lawsuit.
