It’s never easy to say goodbye to someone you love, which is why we feel so badly for Zac Efron as he had to say goodbye to his dog, Puppy Efron!

The hunky actor took to Instagram and Twitter on Thursday to share an adorable pic with Puppy (above) as he shared a heartbreaking caption:
“Through thick and thin you’ve always been my best friend. I’ll see you at the finish line, RIP Puppy Efron.”
Zac went on to quote Chance the Rapper saying:
“‘Felt hog tied ever since my dog died/ He lived to 84, damn, that’s a long ride/ I know he up there he just sit and he wait/ I’ll be racing up the stairs I’mma get to the gate singing’ ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ Chance the Rapper”
Talk about tugging at your heart strings!
If you remember, Efron first shared a pic of Puppy back in April of 2012 after he received the Australian Shepherd for Christmas in 2011.
While there’s no doubt that the 28-year-old misses his furry little friend, he does have two other dogs, an Australian Shepherd named Dreamer, and an adopted dog, Chappelle, with ex Sami Miro.
R.I.P. Puppy, you will be sorely missed!
