Hey Perez this does not and should not reflect Canada…this could have happened anywhere. We here in Canada are the most patient and welcoming people.
Firstly, I'm from oshawa and can tell you that im certainly NOT 'dirty' as Kreechica has commented. Nice profile picture of yourself by the way - it looks like YOU are the dirty one.
And secondly, Canada is MUCH more accepting of homosexuality then the US…so it is sad that there are still idiots like that out there who actually have no lives themselves and have to pick on others who are different from them…I'm appalled!

I live in Oshawa and I know one of these women. I think it is a digusting thing what this man has done. It is unacceptable and wrong. Unfortunately, Now oshawa might hvae a bad rap because of this sick man… it's a nice place to live usually. I hope that justice is served and he isn't just getting assault charges. ITS A HATE CRIME!!!!!!

We just drove through Oshawa this weekend on our way back home to lovely Ottawa
. This was the most depressing town I have seen in a long time; made worse because so many people are losing jobs because of layoffs at GM. This man was not only a homophobe but also probably a victim of a job loss, and in his weakness he lashed out at something; someone or anything. It sucks and it's inexusable and he was looking for a target for his anger. Awful.
1) It's not Canada's fault, nor is it any other country's. Address it to the haters.

As not only a Canadian but as someone that lives in the Oshawa area let me tell u that like everywhere u have some ppl who have severe hatred for ppl who don't chose to live life the way that person does. doesn't mean everyone thinks that way. i hate to break it to u but the world does not revolve around california. Canada legalized same sex marriage back in 2005. showing that we are much more open to others life styles then americans. just bc u guys passed prop 8 has nothing to do with us and there fore please dont assume that bc of indivuals thoughts in claifornia necessarily influence how we behave here. every where in the world u are going to have some ppl like this idiot. Doesn't mean all canadians agree or even (unlike california) the majority of canadians agree with his actions.
He is probably a laid off GM worker. Oshawa is a dark, dingy factory town. It is a wanker heaven. High unemployment has hit this city big time. It used to have the highest per capita income in Canada because of GM and now they are feeling the crunch.
I am sure though that this man speaks for the minority not the majority.
