The Dalai Lama has been having health issues lately. In October, the spiritual leader was hospitalized due to abdominal pains and was even operated on to remove gallstones.
And, now, we find out the Dalai Lama was taken to a hospital in New Delhi on Monday after he was complaining of “a mild discomfort” in both of his arms.
A spokesman, Tenzin Taklha, said the leader had been diagnosed with having a “pinched nerve.” And according to the doctors, that can result in a tingling sensation or pain in the arms or legs.
At the moment, the Dalai Lama has been advised to go on bed rest.
Taklha adds, “He was feeling a tingling sensation in his arms and we therefore thought it necessary to get a thorough check-up done as soon as possible. The doctors have said there was nothing to worry and he is fine and should be all right with some rest.”
According to the rep, the spiritual leader has been released from the hospital. He is said to be preparing for a trip to Italy and Germany starting this coming Sunday. Then he’ll be headed on a tour of south India.
Seems like a lot of work for a man who’s supposed to be recuperating!
