Scorsese In Talks For Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton Love Affair Flick

elizabeth-taylor-richard-burton-movie.jpg

It's one of the most talked about Hollywood romances of all time! He'd be a fool not to take it on!

Paramount Pictures is in the middle of securing the rights to make a biopic based on the star-crossed romance between the late Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. The studio is currently in talks with the Taylor estate to secure her life rights, while Burton's widow, Sally Hay Burton, has already made the actor's resources and library available. Along with the estates, Paramount has also optioned Furious Love, the book by Sam Kashner and Nancy Schoenberger about their affair, and the hunt for a screenwriter is on.

However, the studio isn't just looking to make another tawdry romance. This thing's gonna have some depth! Paramount is actively pursuing Martin Scorsese to direct and possibly produce, through his Paramount-based Sikelia banner.

Wow! Imagine that! Martin is an excellent choice, no doubt, and when you stop to think about it, Liz deserves the best of the best to tell her story. We approve!

Angelina Doesn't Dare Compare Herself To The "Lovely" Elizabeth Taylor

angelina-jolie-talks-taking-on-cleopatra-role-elizabeth-taylor.jpg

It goes without saying that Angelina Jolie is a beautiful, stunning woman, inside and out. She's a terrific mom, a generous philanthropist and a brilliant actress. The latter made it easy for David Fincher to insist she take the lead role in his remake of Cleopatra, a role first taken on by the incomparable Elizabeth Taylor. However, though she's certainly a skillful actress, Angie also recognizes the shoes she is about to fill and she is not so bold as to suggest that she could portray the famed pharaoh better than the woman who came before her.

In a new interview, Angelina insists that she could never overshadow Liz's performance, saying:

“My performance will never be as lovely as Elizabeth’s.”

True, but we have faith it will be lovely in it's own right. There'll never be another like Miz Liz, but we think she'd be pleased to see such a reverence to the role coming from someone as talent as yourself, Angie!

So…when is this baby going to start production?!

Elizabeth Taylor's Home Is For Sale!

elizabeth-taylors-mansion-is-for-sale

So sad.

The Bel-Air mansion that the late icon Elizabeth Taylor called her home for over 30 years has been put on the market!

According to reports, the 7,000 square foot '1960s ranch home with treetop views across Los Angeles which has been meticulously maintained' also sits on 1.27 acres of land and has an English Rose garden, and is being sold for $8.6 million!

Check out photos of the property (above and below)!

Simply beautiful, no?

It's going to be so sad to see anyone else inhabit this home!

But life does goes on, and we're sure Liz would want others to enjoy the space just as much as she clearly did while she was with us!

May she R.I.P.

Not quite what they anticipated, but still a success, we'd say!

We reported after the death of Elizabeth Taylor that an Andy Warhol painting done of the icon, titled Liz #5, was to be auctioned off via Phillips de Pury & Company and estimated to sell for around $30 million!

Well, they weren't too far off, because at last night's event, it brought in an impressive $27 million!

Wonderful!

We hope wherever it ends up, her memory is honored and the work is well-maintained!

Elizabeth Taylor Leaves $800k+ To Her Last Husband

Elizabeth And Larry

A few weeks after such a sad loss, we're learning more and more specifically how the wonderful Elizabeth Taylor divided up her fortune in regards to her will.

Among charities and family members, one recipient comes as somewhat of a surprise: her ex husband Larry Fortensky received more than $800,000 according to the actress's final wishes!

Larry, married to Elizabeth in the 90's, has had a rough time with his health due to a head injury he sustained in 1999 from a drunken fall. Not one to turn her nose up at charity, Elizabeth (without being asked) offered him a thousand dollars a month:

"Darling Larry. I've been thinking of you lately and worry about you. I think you could use a little help so I would like to send you a thousand a month for the rest of my life or until I go broke."

That's so sweet of her!

She also cut him a check for $15k when he was about to lose a house (which he eventually did). Everyone has been very clear, though, that he never asked her for handouts, and that even while they were married, he was still working his job.

The two remained close despite the divorce.

Well, Larry, we definitely hope this helps out with those health issues of yours! It sounds like Elizabeth cared for you a lot, even in the end, regardless of you two not being together anymore.

We think we can all agree that Elizabeth had an amazing heart, that's for sure!

Liz Taylor Refused Heart Surgery Before Death

Filed under: Sad Sad > Elizabeth Taylor

elizabeth-taylor-wanted-to-die.jpg

Ugh, we hate to think such a thing, but according to The National Enquirer, it may have been the case.

According to the mag, Elizabeth Taylor died of a massive heart attack last month that could have been avoided. Supposedly, her doctors advised her to undergo a life-saving heart surgery six months ago that would have bought her more time - but she didn't want it. As one friend explains:

"The doctors wanted to go in to clean up her clogging arteries and surgically repair her leaking heart," the friend said. They'd done what they could noninvasively, but they recommended bypass surgery and valve replacement to correct the problem. There were risks involved, but Elizabeth had a good track record when it came to surgical recovery. It may have bought her another 10 years."

Wow. Ten years. Imagine what she could have done with so much time. Then again, maybe she wouldn't have had the past six months if she had gone through with the procedure. You just can never know with these kinds of things.

In the end, we guess we understand why she decided not to go through with it, if she actually did. She had a lot of surgeries - somewhere around 100 in her lifetime. After that, who would want to go under the knife again?
