The upcoming Lone Ranger remake starring Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp just got infinitely cooler.
Executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed that he's selected none other than Jack White to score film!
The former White Stripes singer will write, produce and perform all of the original music that is featured and the producers are excited to hear what he comes up with, as Bruckheimer said:

Jack White has made it clear that The White Stripes are donzo, but he wants everyone to know that it's not his fault!
In a recent New York Times Magazine profile, the singer revealed that it was actually his ex-wife and drummer, Meg White, that wanted to end the band for good, explaining:

We meant it when we said that The White Stripes are officially over.
During a recent interview, Jack White was asked whether or not there might EVER be a White Stripes reunion.
Here's what he had to say about it, in no uncertain terms:

OoOoOo! We like it!
Former White Stripes, Raconteurs and Dead Weather frontman Jack White is finally on his own and is releasing his first solo album, Blunderbuss, on April 24.
That's still a few months off, but fortunately, he gave us a taste of what we can expect by releasing the record's first single today! It's called Love Interruption and we kinda love it and maybe you will too once you listen to it (below).
And you know what? We like it.
Taylor Momsen and The Pretty Reckless are touring Europe with Evanescence and even though they won't have any new material for a new album until 2012, they're still breathing new life into their show by doing a cover of The White Stripes' Seven Nation Army.
Taylor's voice totally fits this type of song. It's actually pretty good. And we're also really happy she's wearing a shirt. Nice job.
We think Jack White would be proud!
Watch (above) and tell us what U think of their cover.
Snow Patrol has covered U2's Mysterious Ways for the upcoming 20th anniversary of Achtung Baby!
The album has been re-recorded with a special CD that contains covers of all the songs by incredible artists.
Like who? Like: Nine Inch Nails, Patti Smith, Depeche Mode, The Killers and Jack White!
Check out Snow Patrol's crack at it above! So good!
If you haven't been watching (and shame on you for not!), all week Stephen Colbert has been trying to romance Jack White into representing him musically!
This, of course, leads to more LOLz than we can handle!
Especially in the first video when Colbert starts to put Seven Nation Army to a yogurt ad campaign!
The best part though is this: there are six videos of series! We have the first one embedded above, be sure to check out the other five after the jump to see if Stephen convinces Jack!
