“Everyone in this room would agree that people in this country were misled in terms of the rationale of this war. I’ve never understood why [invading Iraq] was so high on the administration’s agenda when terrorism was going on in Afghanistan and Pakistan and that [Iraq] had no true connection with al Qaeda.” - Katie Couric, speaking at the National Press Club on Tuesday evening Permalink / 389 comments (RSS) » They're Trying To Kill Her Off!

The chipmunk toothed news anchor will also travel to Syria and beginning Tuesday she will anchor the evening newscast from Baghdad and Damascus. Despite lackluster ratings, CBS is sticking behind their evening news host, Katie Couric. "She has a five-year contract with CBS to anchor the evening news," CBS News President Sean McManus said on Thursday. "All of us, including Katie, expect her to be anchoring the evening news in her fifth year." It's probably cheaper keeping her than paying out her contract. Unless she continues to destroy their ratings even more! Permalink / 113 comments (RSS) » Quote Of The Day
"I'm human. I'm not going around 'dee-da dee-da dee.' I have days when I'm like, 'Oh my God, what did I do?' But for some weird reason, they don't happen that often. I think one thing that I realized, looking back at it and analyzing it, is people are very unforgiving and very resistant to change. The biggest mistake we made is we tried new things. If it turns out it wasn't a perfect fit (at the evening news), then, you know, I'll do something else that's really exciting and fulfilling for me." - Katie Couric tells the new issue of New York magazine about her disastrous year as host of the CBS Evening News Permalink / 49 comments (RSS) » |
