Guests were treated to a "fantasy Garden of Eden-themed room" which included a $30k orchid arrangement as well as a customized black dance floor and black chandeliers.

Celebs React To Oprah's Departure

00ap091031050163.jpg

After a quarter of a century, Oprah Winfrey will be leaving you stay-at-home moms to your own devices as she is ending her daytime reign in September of 2011.

Many of her close friends and colleagues took a moment to respond to the news and, as you would imagine, they all have nothing but the best to say.

Her life partner in crime, Gayle King, assured the press that the decision to leave her daytime days behind was hers and hers alone. Furthermore, she has no doubt that Oprah will find a way to fill the void left behind:

" I think that Oprah always makes the best decision for herself. I really do. And I have a feeling she will come up with some things to do. She has a very full life … We don't need to worry about her filling her time, I promise you that! Life is good for her."

New bestie Ellen DeGeneres made similar comments when addressing her in-studio audience last night, saying:

"Hey listen, I'm going to tell you some news you're going to hear as soon as you go out into the world, when you leave here. Right before I came out here, I got a call from Oprah and she told me that she is announcing that next year will be her last year. It will be her 25th year, and she feels like it's time for her to stop…I don't think I could be here without her. I think she has blazed a trail … She is an amazing woman…She will always be the Queen of Daytime Television."

Ah, but there is another Queen of Daytime who's doesn't think we have seen the last of O. Martha Stewart told reporters that she believes Oprah will be back, once she has had some time off:

"She'll do another show. She's evolving. She's fabulous."

We're sure she will do another show as well. Question is, will she have it air on network TV or her new cable network, OWN?

We'll have to wait and see.

What do U think of O's big move?

Martha Lost $1 Billion!

wenn2661998ms.jpg

That's a SHIZload of dough!

Martha Stewart is claiming that her 2004 conviction due to a stock-trading scandal and subsequent jail time cost her company, Martha Stewart Omnimedia, $1 billion!

And that "pissed" off the daytime queen!

Martha explains:

"The company had nothing to with anything. But yet, because I am the face and the brand…it certainly had a harmful effect."

Nightline host Cynthia McFadden probed Martha further asking if she ever "kicks herself just a little bit?"

An outraged Martha replied with "How can I kick myself? There are other people to be kicked!"

Meow!

Martha cut off further questions of the prison incident telling McFadden, "Enough! Let's get on with the future."

Sounds like the scandal is still quite the sore spot!

Don't eff with Martha!

Martha Stewart Slams Rachael Ray!

martharachael.jpg

Meow!

Martha Stewart did NOT bite her tongue in an upcoming interview with Nightline when asked about TV competitor Rachael Ray:

"Well, to me, she professed that she could — cannot bake. She — just did a new cookbook which is just a re-edit of a lot of her old recipes. She — and that's not good enough for me."

Ouch! She makes a good point, though!

Martha adds that a cookbook should be "a unique and lasting thing. Something that will really fulfill a need in someone's library."

She says that Rachael's approach "is different" and that she is "more of an entertainer…with her bubbly personality, than she is a teacher, like me. That's not what she's professing to be."

So did Rachael hit back with guns blazing? Absolutely not, in fact she agrees with Martha!

"Why would it make me mad? Her skill set is far beyond mine. That's simply the reality of it…that doesn't mean that what I do isn't important too…I don't consider it needling. I really just think she's being honest. She does have a better skill set than I do when it comes to producing a beautiful, perfect, high-quality meal. I'd rather eat Martha's than mine, too."

At least she admits it!

So ferosh!!!!!

Bette Midler threw a fabulous benefit gala at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York Friday night!

The benefit, called Hulaween, was held as a benefit for the New York Restoration Project, and Bette pulled out all the stops!

Among the attendees were Australian pop singer Sia, Martha Stewart and Michael Kors (we hardly recognized him!).

But the Divine Miss M's costume reigned supreme!

Quote Of The Day

wenn2583509.jpg

"A verdant landscape filled with beautiful animals of all kinds, harp music, cumulus clouds in a bright-blue sky, and happy people conversing pleasantly, sipping cold sake from homemade bamboo cups."

Martha Stewart Sued!

wenn2580767ms.jpg

A former sales manager at Martha Stewart's Body and Soul magazine is suing the company for discrimination!

After being severely injured in a car accident, she is claiming she was pressured to work immediately after her injuries and to work from home while still on disability leave!

Kiki Paris was hit by a car back in May of 2008, which resulted in multiple fractures to her spine and left elbow. A 7 lb metal "halo" was also affixed to her skull!

Sounds painful!

Paris also claims that the company asked her to inform her clients of the injuries in order to sell "sympathy pages." Sure enough she was let go and now she is asking for compensation as well being able to return to her job.

Martha's spokeswoman had no comment.

We know the magazine industry is hurting, but the woman was hit by a car! Surely she needed plenty of time to recuperate.

Sounds like she could have a case to us!

Martha Puts Her Tail Between Her Legs, Apologizes To Jessica Simpson

wenn2583509ms.jpg

After pretty much telling Jessica Simpson that it was her own fault for losing her precious pooch Daisy to a coyote and that she should just suck it up and get a new dog, Martha Stewart has had a change of heart.

Martha, softening her tone, had a new message for Jess:

"I said that she should have been watching her dog more closely, but I feel very, very sorry for anybody that loses a pet. Jessica, I hope you find your pet, but if you don't, I'm really sorry that you lost one."

And there's the gentle Martha we rarely know and love!
