We have a feeling this isn't going to go as well as you all hope it will.
But we are happy to see Dionne Stacey Dash again!
Queen Latifah has written a new show for VH1 called Single Ladies.Revolving around the love lives of three female friends in Atlanta, the cast includes Lauren London, LisaRaye McCoy and Stacey. Sources are saying the show will bring the best of Girlfriends and Sex & The City into one show.
Stacey will be playing a celebrity stylist who is single for the first time, a role she can relate to. She explains:
"My character is very similar to my own life because I’ve never been single. Literally, since I’ve been 17 years old. She’s never been married, the character than I'm playing, whereas I’ve been married three times, so that’s the difference. It’s a really good script."
Maybe it is, but it is going to need one hell of a lead-in to get some viewers.
For The Love of Ray J anyone? Or do U think U'll tune in regardless?
Queen Latifah was awarded the Essence Black Women In Hollywood Power Award, and her bud Jada Pinkett-Smith was on hand to present her with the honor, despite having just lost her father!!
So sad!!
Girlfriend was clearly emotional during her speech and said:
"My father died last week, and I'm flying tomorrow to bury him. But I wanted to come because when those types of losses happen a lot of things get illuminated and your priorities fall in line. When I think about Latifah I think about a woman who makes me feel loved. She can sit in the throne of my soul and just be there with me. She makes me laugh."
At that point she became so choked up she couldn't speak - until the Queen came onto the stage to comfort her!!
We say this with 100% sincerity - Queen Latifah is a class act! And clearly a wonderful friend!
Pinkett-Smith finally was able to finish her introduction by simply stating:
"This is what I'm talking about. I don't see her a lot, but she's my girl."
We commend both of them for being great, sincere friends!! We can't imagine losing your father so recently and being brave enough to step out in public, and the Queen's actions speak for themselves!!
We wish Jada our deepest condolences for her loss.
Since Robert Pattinson couldn't be bothered to leave KStew in England all by herself, Queen Latifah had to improvise to get him to come to The People's Choice Awards.
In preparing for his countdown to irrelevancy (aka his 40th birthday), Diddy is promising "the party of the century" to celebrate the four decades of his life on Thursday.
The party, which will be at the Plaza Hotel's Grand Ballroom in NYC, will evoke a "fantasy dreamland" courtesy of event planner Bronson Van Wyck. Festivities will include a fashion installation, labyrinth, performance art and a display by "wizard of light" Bentley Meeker, who promises the lighting will become "dimmer and sexier," punctuated by a "blizzard of light."
Is that some sort of 40-year old mojo symbolism?!
Guests include Queen Latifah, Russell Simmons, Spike Lee, Zac Posen, Lil' Kim and a "very special" musical guest.
We're sure the "very special" Diddy will be giving a "very special" performance at his "very expensive special" birthday!
Some sneaky sis (or bro!) took a little behind-the-scenes video of Madonna's MDNA tour rehearsal in Tel Aviv this weekend and has shared some incredible footage!
Part of Madge's setlist is her iconic homage to self-love, Express Yourself, but in her 2012 version, she is spicing it up by mashing it with Lady GaGa's similar anthem, Born This Way.
Yeah, you're not going to want to miss this!
Ch-ch-check out the video (above) to hear Madonna sing BOTH Express Yourself and Born This Way!
