They need to stop skirting ’round the OBVIOUS fact that Ivy Lynn (Megan Hilty) is the embodiment of Marilyn Monroe, and her pipes are unparalleled as evidenced in this stellar performance of Second-Hand White Baby Grand.
While screen star Rebecca Duvall (Uma Thurman) can't hack the musical part of musical theatre, she is technically still playing the blonde Bombshell we idolize and adore.

NBC's SMASH scored huge when they got actress Uma Thurman to sign on for five episodes!!! The silver screen star made her SMASH debut as Rebecca Duvall on Sunday night's episode, portraying a starlet going after the Marilyn Monroe role in Bombshell!

Thurman will appear in four more episodes of the show, one in particular features her performance of Monroe's infamous Happy Birthday, Mr. President!!
Uma even had the song Dig Deep specifically written for her by the show's executive producers, which she learned in just TWO days!
Pretty impressive!
We can't wait to see more of Uma on SMASH and are glad she decided to leap into TV and try it out for a change!
