There has been some controversy over Whitney Houston's Lifetime biopic Whitney, but despite what her family wants, it's going to happen anyway.
And this trailer is proof!
The flick, which is Angela Bassett's directorial debut, is set to premiere on January 17th, and we now have the first trailer for it!
Starring America's Next Top Model Cycle 3 first-runner-up Yaya DaCosta, this movie seems full of all of the drama and amazing singing you'd expect from a Whitney story.
But, people are still upset.

Best slipped secret EVER!
Remember the smash hit The Boy Is Mine, sung by Brandy and Monica in 1998?
Producer Rodney 'Darkchild' Jerkins was talking to Hits Daily Double, and said:
When you're Aretha Franklin, you never have to hold back what you think!
And she doesn't!
The singer sat down with the Wall Street Journal to talk about her new album, Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics, and during the 10 minute interview, she was asked what she thought about singers Adele, Alicia Keys, and Whitney Houston, and she had complimentary things to say.
It's possible that Aretha isn't a big fan of the ladies' music, but we didn't know she felt this un-strongly about them!

She's still down with Adele!!
After releasing the audio track of her Rolling in the Deep/Ain't No Mountain High cover this week, Miz Aretha Franklin has been making her late night TV rounds.
She stopped by David Letterman on Monday to perform the jam — but instead of listening to the song, we were totally distracted by one of her stage-mates…
Specifically, the familiar looking woman to the left!
Since we've got extensive diva knowledge, we had a feeling there was a famous face among the soul queen that evening — and it's none other than Whitney Houston's 81-year-old momma Cissy, singing backup!
First off, we're just so happy to see the gospel songstress is out, about and working these days. She looks just wonderful! But still, we couldn't help but notice her disinterest in the performance, which is odd especially since she's been singing backup for Aretha since the mid-1960s.
Maybe she's just not a fan of Adele! But — who doesn't love Adele?!
Ch-ch-check out the song (above) and try and guess Miz Houston's emotions throughout! It's pretty great!

However, according to an official at the LA Coroner's office, her claims are totally invalid!
In an interview with the U.K.'s Telegraph, the Freaky Friday actress recalled the time she completed a probation program at the morgue and revealed that she was the one who handled Whitney's body after she passed away.
Well, her whole story didn't add up at all and officials confirmed that LiLo was lying about the whole thing — even the part about Whitney's body being in a body bag!
Apparently the deceased singer's body was never in a body bag and no one in the probation program came close to Whitney's body, said the official.
When the How Will I Know singer passed away, the autopsy was
Um, wait, what?!
Lindsay Lohan has made some crazy claims in her day, but these newest ones have us scratching our heads!
The star did an interview with U.K.'s Telegraph, and in it, she talks about moving to London and her 2011 community service.
We'll start with the weirdest part, which is when LiLo basically claims she was the one who rolled Whitney Houston's body into the LA morgue!
Talking about the judge's decision to punish her probation violation by making her serve her community service at an L.A. County coroner office, Lindsay said
