Former Vanderbilt basketball player Dai-Jon Parker died Thursday in an inner-tubing accident in Indiana.

Super sad news…

Dai-Jon Parker, a former basketball player at Vanderbilt University, died suddenly on Thursday in Indiana.

According to reports, the 22-year-old athlete was inner-tubing behind a boat in the Morse Reservoir near Indianapolis, when he was thrown off the tube without a life jacket, and drowned. His body was located with sonar nearly two hours after disappearing underwater.

Vanderbilt's basketball coach, Kevin Stallings, said:

"We are extremely saddened with the news of Dai-Jon's death. Everyone who watched him play basketball knew what kind of athlete he was. But, to those of us who knew him and loved him, he was as good and happy of a person as you would ever meet. He always had a smile on his face and I will always remember him for that smile and the positive spirit he had. We send our deepest condolences and prayers to his family, friends, and others who were lucky enough to have met him. The Vanderbilt basketball family will miss him."

Parker, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was a three-year player at Vandy, playing in 92 career games.

For his senior season, he transferred to the University of Indianapolis.

Our thoughts are with all of Parker's friends and family.

This Man Allegedly Killed His Ex-Girlfriend, Sexually Abused Her Corpse & Then Ate Her Heart

no title

This is beyond comprehensible.

A man in Indiana is accused of not only raping and killing his ex girlfriend, but eating her heart and other organs as well.

Joseph Oberhansley, 34, allegedly killed his ex Tammy Jo Blanton, 46, sexually abused her corpse, and proceeded to eat parts of her heart, lungs, and brain back in September.

The jury will be considering the death penalty, although Joseph told the court that there were "a lot of lies and deception" going on in the case.

We don't really know how someone could be charged with eating another person unless it was true, but we feel sorry for Tammy Jo's family during this troubling time.

All of those donations apparently helped.

Memories Pizza, the controversial Indiana pizzeria whose owners claimed they wouldn't cater to a gay wedding because of their religious beliefs, reopened on Thursday night and hosted a full house when they did.

The packed restaurant was filled with the owner's friends, family, and people who came down to support the controversial restaurant.

And the owner, talking at the opening night, claimed he was happy to be providing service again and would absolutely do everything the same all over again. Unfortunately.

This is a step in the right direction, but we think more still needs to be done.

Indiana and Arkansas made national headlines over the past week for trying to implement discriminatory bills into law that could allow businesses to refuse service to LGBT patrons.

Republican Gov. Mike Pence first signed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act last Thursday, and since then, companies, celebrities, and people all across America have spoken out against the decision.

Now, a week after the initial bill passed, both states at the center of the scandal have signed revisions to the controversial law.

When we suggested voting with your dollars, this isn't what we had in mind…

Memories Pizza was forced to close temporarily after the backlash from becoming the public face of LGBT discrimination under Indiana's new religious freedom bill.

But they probably won't be going under just yet.

After news broke of threatening phone calls and Internet posts in response to the owners' legal refusal to cater same-sex weddings, someone started a GoFundMe for the business.

As of this writing, the crowdfunding effort has raised over $200,000 in just 20 hours.

That's a scary amount of support of LGBT discrimination.
