The woman suspected of driving under the influence and smashing her car into the 15-month-old son of MMA fighter Marcus Kowal was arrested again on Wednesday — this time with a much more serious charge.

As you may have heard, Donna Marie Higgins had first been arrested on Saturday, shortly after crashing into Liam Mikael Kowal as his aunt pushed him in a stroller along a crosswalk.

The 72-year-old was originally booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and drunken driving charges and was released on Sunday after posting bail.

But once the toddler was declared dead on Sunday after his family took him off life support, Hawthorne police consulted with the Los Angeles County district attorney's office and decided to re-arrest Higgins on suspicion of vehicle manslaughter.

Even on the stiffer charge, however, the suspect didn't last too long behind bars — the elderly woman was released from the police station after posting her $100,000 bond.

While Kowal says he harbors no ill will towards the woman, he would like to "speak directly to her" at the trial, telling press:

The long appeals process has finally led to a new trial for Adnan Syed.

The subject of the water cooler first season of the Serial podcast was previously sentenced to life after being convicted of murdering his high school girlfriend in 1999.

But on Thursday Baltimore Circuit Judge Martin Welch ruled Syed deserved a retrial due to his ineffective attorney.

Judge Denies Request Demanding Amber Heard To Testify In Court Today

Geesh! There was more drama than we thought!

As we reported, on Friday, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp's legal teams met in court to determine whether a permanent restraining order should be placed on the actor. In addition, the actress' lawyer tried to push their June 17 court hearing back even further, which Depp's lawyer — Laura Wasser — argued would further damage her client's career.

Apparently, Wasser was so impatient she asked the court to depose The Danish Girl star and neighbor Raquel Pennington THAT SAME DAY!

Stanford Rapist Brock Turner's Character Witnesses Regret Their Support — See What They Had To Say!

Earlier this week, former Stanford student Brock Turner was convicted of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman, and people are outraged over his light sentence to spend mere six months in jail.

Turner's rape trial has garnered national attention for perfectly illustrating white privilege and victim blaming, and even those who once supported Turner are now realizing that he is definitely not the victim in the situation.

Kelly Owens, Brock's former high school guidance counselor, praised the swimmer in a letter to Judge Aaron Persky during the case — nothing that he was an "exceptional student" and "a young man of character" who was "absolutely undeserving of the outcome."

Now, after learning of Turner's laughable sentencing (and the public's reaction to it), Owens regrets supporting the 20-year-old sex offender.

On Wednesday, she issued an apology to her school district and Oakwood High School, writing:

Get the deets!

Mark Salling is fighting those charges.

At his arraignment on Friday, the Glee actor pleaded not guilty to two child porn charges, after being indicted last week.

Back in December, the 33-year-old was arrested when cops found thousands of images and videos of underage individuals engaging in sex acts, including some that were even younger than twelve years old.

no title

Bill Cosby's upcoming trial could be VERY lengthy.

As we reported on Wednesday, the comedian was arraigned in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania for one charge of aggravated indecent assault against Andrea Constand.

The Cosby Show star did not enter a plea, and was released on $1 million bail.

For this upcoming trial, more than 50 women who have accused Cosby of assault could testify against him.

Although some of these allegations are past the statute of limitations, they could still be used as witnesses to establish Constand's credibility, as well as the 78-year-old's pattern of behavior.

According to Gloria Allred who represents 29 of these women:

"I do imagine that it will be a very very vigorous cross examination of any women who may be called as witnesses, who may be called because they have alleged similar conduct by Mr Cosby. I think many of these women have indicated they are prepared to do that. They are going to demonstrate that kind of courage and tell their truth. They will be ready and they know they have a duty to participate if they are subpoenaed."

If convicted, Cosby can face up to 10 years in prison.

Robert Durst Makes Extradition Deal With Feds — See Why The Jinx Is 'Eager' To Face Murder Charges In Los Angeles!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooLegal MattersSad Sad

Robert Durst is heading back to the West Coast.

Earlier this year, the subject of the HBO docu-series The Jinx was charged with murder for the 2000 execution-style shooting of his college friend Susan Berman — allegedly to keep her from talking to investigators about the disappearance of his first wife in 1982.

Next summer, the New York real estate heir will return to El Lay to face the murder charges — and possibly the death penalty.

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles County district attorney's office said the former fugitive agreed to be extradited from New Orleans by August 18, 2016.

According to court filings, the 72-year-old has struck a plea deal with federal prosecutors on a federal gun charge — which has kept him held in Louisiana since March.

One of Durst's lawyers, Dick DeGuerin, said in a statement that the extradition deal was:

"Part of our effort to have Robert Durst face and defeat the California murder charge as soon as possible. Bob Durst didn't kill Susan Berman and doesn't know who did… He is eager to go to trial and prove his innocence."

We're not sure what will come of this extradition agreement, but hopefully the truth comes out and justice will be served.
