For some reason, a slew of southern states have decided to recently pass discriminatory bills that target the rights of the LGBT community.

And now, the Volunteer State is following suit.

Legislators passed a bill that allows mental health experts like counselors and therapists can turn away patients that violate their "sincerely held principles," whatever the f*ck that's supposed to mean!

In fact, opponents are so concerned about the proposition's vague wording that they're worried it could also allow discrimination against people of color.

ICYMI: Kentucky's Senate Passes A Bill That Allows Businesses To Discriminate Against The LGBT Community

This is just awful.

We can't believe sh*t like this is still happening.

ICYMI, on Tuesday, the Kentucky Senate passed a religious liberties bill to legally protect businesses that deny service to members of the LGBT community because of religious reasons.

The Republican-controlled senate passed the measure — which would expand on the state's 2013 Religious Freedom Restoration Act — on a 22-16 vote.

The problem with the legislation is that, even though same-sex marriage has been legalized nationwide, it continues to promote anti-gay sentiments and allow discriminatory actions.

However, those supporting the bill say it protects citizens' rights to freedom of conscience.

Its lead sponsor, Senator Albert Robinson, defended the measure, saying:

California Officially Outlaws Using 'Redskins' As Mascots For All Public Schools!

Great work, California!

The Golden State has become the first in the nation to completely ban the use of 'Redskins' as a mascot for any public school sports team, with a bill signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown (pictured above) on Sunday.

The ban comes in direct relation to the ongoing controversy surrounding the NFL's Washington Redskins, and that team's refusal to change their mascot, which Native American advocacy groups and allies have continually said is racist and cruel.

With California's ban, the state joins communities — like Houston, Texas and Madison, Wisconsin — in ridding themselves of the racially insensitive term in the public realm surrounding sports and mascots.

California's bill, Assembly Bill 30, also known as the California Racial Mascots Act, prohibits public schools from using 'Redskins' for athletic mascots or nicknames beginning on January 1, 2017.

Governor Brown said of the bill, and other legal moves on racial issues:

North Carolina Legislature Passes A Bill That Allows Denial Of Same-Sex Marriages Based On Religious Beliefs

Filed under: Gay Gay GayLegal MattersPolitikLGBT

North Carolina has passed a very disturbing bill that can affect same-sex marriage in the state.

Talk about taking taking two steps forward and 500 steps back.

North Carolina legislature has just passed a bill that allows officials to deny same-sex couples a marriage ceremony or even a marriage license if it interferes with their religious beliefs.

The bill now lands on Governor Pat McCrory's desk, where he will have 10 days to decide whether to veto it or pass it. If he does not come to a decision by then the bill will become law.

This would essentially allow court officials to opt out of performing a marriage ceremony for religious reasons.

This bill has been floating around ever since same-sex marriage was legalized in the state last October, but Governor McCrory has shot down it down in the past.

It seems that some conservatives are convinced that this is some sort of compromise and that they're REALLY protecting the officials who don't want to 'forced' to challenge their own beliefs.

It's unclear if the Governor is currently leaning in one direction or the other, but let's just say we hope he comes to his senses and shoots this thing down AGAIN!

It was because of his son that he didn't sign this bill.

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson surprised many on Wednesday when he announced that he would not sign his state's religious freedom bill.

The Republican Governor asked for lawmakers to change the current version of the bill so that it mirrors the federal version of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act — which does NOT have the provision that allows businesses to discriminate against customers of different sexual and religious orientations.

Governor Hutchinson faced criticism from a lot of sources when it was announced that he would sign the bill into law, but ultimately it was his son Seth's criticism that had the biggest impact. Hutchinson said:
