NICE!!!

On Tuesday, the New Jersey Assembly passed a bill that will let prosecutors treat any organizers of dog fighting as legitimate mobsters, as well as some tough, new laws for anyone who's caught abusing animals.

Our only question is - what took so long?!

Here's what one of the assemblymen said in a statement about the new passed bills:

Carrie Underwood Must Be Stoked! Tennessee Governor Vetoed The Ag Gag Bill!

carrieunderwood

Just another reason why you don't mess with Carrie Underwood!!!

A couple of weeks ago we reported how Carrie was pissed about an ag gag bill getting passed by Tennessee lawmakers.

The ag gag bill would've made it basically impossible for animals rights activists to secretly document abuse.

Carrie was so mad back then she said she would show up at Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam's house if it was passed!

Well, Bill made sure that didn't happen.

His office has released this statement:

john mccain introduces cable tv busting bill

John McCain is complaining about the TV again- too many darn channels!

Only this time the Arizona Senator is complaining on the Senate floor! He's introducing a bill called the TV Consumer Freedom Act of 2013.

The bill would force cable providers to sell packages of "à la carte" channels- in other words, custom packages designed by the consumer! He says:

Michigan Governor Passes Bill That May Allow Wolves To Be Hunted! Boo!

Seriously?

The governor of Michigan is obviously not a Wolverine fan as he's totally OK'd a bill that will allow the hunting of the gray wolf.

Not too long ago - the species was nearly driven to extinction, but since then has experienced something of a resurgence.

Feelings about wolves divide the public. Some feel they're a nuisance that prey on farm animals, while others respect their unfiltered wildness.

Here's what Governor Rick Snyder said:

Ginnifer Goodwin Speaks Out Against Ag Gag Bill

Ginnifer Goodwin

Ginnifer Goodwin has stepped up and is voicing her opposition to the ag gag bill in Tennessee.

She joins the likes of Carrie Underwood in her plea for Tenn. Governor Bill Haslam to veto the bill.

If you haven't heard somehow, in Tennessee there's a bill trying to make it so animal abuse whistleblowers have to turn their evidence over to police within 48 hours of learning of the abuse or risk facing charges themselves.

The whole point of this bill is to make it so farm industry abuse is harder to document because two days isn't enough time to document ongoing, systemic abuse.

Jillian Michaels

While on a recent trip to Capitol Hill, Jillian Michaels spoke with Senators Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein about cosponsoring a bill that would ban the slaughter of horses in America.

PETA's Vice President Dan Mathews was there as well, lending his voice to the issue.

They all retreated to Sen. Boxer's office to talk more about the bill that would make it illegal to kill horses for their meat but also they discuss the Safeguard American Food Exports (SAFE) Act.

Carrie Underwood Still Fighting For The Animals

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood is a champion for those who cannot fight for themselves: the animals!

We previously mentioned that a bill had been passed by the Tennessee legislature that would force whistleblowers to release undercover video of animal abuse to the police within 48 hours of capturing it.

The problem is that animal rights activists say that 48 hours isn't enough time to show an ongoing pattern of abuse.

Because the bill was passed, it's now up to Governor Bill Haslam to sign it into law or veto it.
