Sea Lion Pups Get Lost In Beachside California Neighborhoods

Sea Lion pups must be getting bored with the ocean!

These little pups keep making their way out of the ocean and into beachside neighborhoods.

The little babies tend to get disoriented and need to be rescued.

Luckily, as we've previously mentioned, Sea World workers come to the scene to bring the pups back to the water.

Sometimes, the Sea Lions will get bored of the land, and make their way back to the ocean on their own.

But usually that's not the case and a rescue is needed.

If you live near the California coast and you see a Sea Lion, don't approach it, but call the cops and let them know a cute little baby animal is in need of some rescuing!

Check out the video (above) to see a little sea lion cutie hanging out far from home.

Ted Danson Petitions President Obama To Save Whales And Dolphins

Filed under: Barack ObamaMama NatureDolphinsWhalesTed Danson

Ted Danson

The Obama administration is considering using seismic air gun blasts to search for oil and gas under the ocean seabed.

The problem with this is that the blasts are 100,000 times louder than a jet engine and they'd occur every 10 seconds for months!!

There's a very good chance that 138,500 whales and dolphins will be injured and maybe even killed by these blasts.

Luckily, they have Ted Danson fighting for them. He said:

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley And Doggy Have A Beach Day!

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was spotted at the beach on a beautiful sunny El Lay Saturday.

It basically felt like summer this past weekend! (Sorry, East Coasters.)

The lovely lady was splashing around in the surf at Malibu while wearing a wet suit top.

It may be sunny out but that water sure looks chilly!

We bet she kept warm by playing with her doggy the whole time!!

So glad to see them getting in some pup/mama time.

Looks like they had a lot of fun! And Rosie looked reallll good doing it!

Keep up that fitness, gurl!!

The Top Ten Most Surprising Facts About Sharks

shark(1)

Sharks are one of the most interesting animals in the world.

They're insanely interesting, as long as they are admired from a distance!

And we definitely mean more than an arm's length away!

Here is a top ten list of the most surprising facts about sharks:

"1. Sharks generally have about 45 to 50 teeth – but that’s just the “front row” teeth. They also have, on average, as many as seven replacement rows of teeth behind the front row, ready to move into place if a tooth is damaged or falls out. With all the action a shark’s mouth sees throughout its lifetime, an individual might go through as many as 30,000 teeth.

2. Even though we associate sharks with big, sharp chompers, some species barely need their teeth. Whale sharks and basking sharks, two of the largest species, are both filter feeders and have numerous, tiny teeth – a whale shark might have up to 300 rows of teeth .

3. While sharks don’t use sounds to communicate, they do rely on body language. If you’re snorkeling or diving, it’s good to be aware of the body language sharks use to communicate that they’re uneasy. Hunched backs, lowered pectoral fins, sharp movements (in zig-zag or back-and-forth patterns), and diving down to touch the bottom are all good indicators that a shark is feeling uncomfortable.

4. Some large sharks have dramatically longer lifespans than small sharks. For instance, whale sharks (which generally range from 18 to 32 feet/5.5 to 10 meters in length) can live up to 100 years, while the smooth dogfish (with an average length between 2 and 4 feet/0.6 and 1.2 meters) might only live for 16 years."

Sperm Whales Adopt Bottlenose Dolphin Babe!

So sweet…we're madly in love with this new family!

A bottlenose dolphin born with a deformity has been abandoned by his original group. The babe suffers from a deformed spine, and he could not keep up with his fellow dolphins.

The dolphin could have also been teased by the members of his original pod as well.

But, thankfully, sperm whales have come to the rescue!
