In a new study, scientists were able to improve the hearing in deaf animals by using human stem cells!
Maybe we're that much closer to breeding centaurs and other cool human animal hybrids!
The treatment they used would only be able to treat

Need a tic-tac?
A dentist from North Carolina recently traveled all the way to Puerto Rico to perform a dental procedure on a 3,000 lb patient.
For the past 20-years Dr. Mike Loomis has being flying south to treat a 39-year-old male hippo named Tomy.
The Ferré zoo's most popular animal suffers from a malocclusion, which prevents his lower teeth from wearing properly, and they eventually overgrow to the point that they interfere with his eating.
"The first time I performed the dental procedure on Tomy, his teeth had grown through his upper lip, making it very painful for him to chew. He was very thin, and I was concerned about the risk of anesthesia. Since then, the zoo has done a great job of making sure that his teeth are trimmed before they get to that point,"
explained Loomis.
Sounds like Tomy is super lucky to have such a talented friend from the states — even if he's not more giving with the anesthesia!

Even Apes have to go to the dentist!
They say that an 800-pound gorilla can sit anywhere he wants. But when he's got a toothache, there's only one place he can go — into the dentist's chair.
Oscar Jonsey, a 30-year-old lowlands gorilla from the San Francisco Zoo, was knocked out while two dentists performed a three-hour procedure to save an abscessed tooth.
This was the second trip to the dentist's office in the past year for the ailing ape, also known as O.J.
Last year poor O.J. had to get a root canal too.
The silverback gorilla was anesthetized in his pen and brought to the zoo's veterinary hospital where dentist Dan Mairani and endodontist Steve Holifield, who usually handle humans, treated O.J.'s canine tooth.

AW!
We are pleased to introduce Nakio!
He is the first dog to be fitted with a complete set of bionic paws that work naturally to allow him to run, jump and even swim.
Nakio received the paws after his own were severely hurt from stepping into an ice puddle as a puppy. The prosthetics were designed and fitted in a pioneering procedure by Martin Kaufmann, founder of Orthopets.

Wow!
Mumbasa, an African lion at the Brit Spaugh Zoo in Kansas, got a visit from the dentist after chomping down on his enclosure's fence and chipping an inch long tooth.
The lion was put to sleep on Monday morning and a team assisted a dentist while he gave the sleeping beast a root canal.
The procedure went according to plan and Mumbasa is resting up before he returns to his enclosure to greet visitors at the zoo.
