Guess that ending between Alicia Keys and BlackBerry wasn’t so mutual after all!
It’s been about a year since the smartphone company named the Girl On Fire songstress as its Global Creative Director and according to reports, Alicia failed to help the company get out of their slump.
And by their slump, we mean their descending sales!
In the company statement, they said:
“BlackBerry and Alicia Keys have completed our year-long collaboration. We thank Alicia for her many contributions including providing creative direction for the BlackBerry Keep Moving Project which attracted more than 40 million visits. We have enjoyed the opportunity to work with such an incredibly talented and passionate individual.”
Ah, yes, the classic “It’s not you, it’s me” break-up line! But is Alicia really to blame??
The company has been going downhill since the launch of iPhones and Androids, and the launch of their BlackBerry Z10 failed to get smartphone users buzzing!
But in a sea of super competitive tech and phone companies, BlackBerry has failed to rise above the rest!
We wonder what’s next for the tech company!
