Alton Sterling is the victim of gun violence at the hands of police.
On Tuesday, it was announced that no charges will be filed against two Baton Rouge police officers in the case of Sterling, who was shot and killed by a cop while selling CDs outside of a convenience store. Cell phone footage shows the cop shooting Sterling multiple times as he was pinned down to the ground by both Howie Lake and Blane Salamoni.
According to Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, the officers acted in a “reasonable and justifiable manner.” Yeah, right.

The officer put a gun to the head of Alton Sterling and said, “I├óΓé¼Γäóll kill you, bitch.” Ninety seconds later, he was dead.
We can’t talk about gun violence in America without talking about racism. #BlackLivesMatter https://t.co/RXN77QYftD

We saw the video.
Race and racism dirty the lens for many.#AltonSterling was a victim of gun violence, state-sanctioned & rooted in a 2nd amendment written to exclude and execute him.
America, we have a hundreds of years-old problem. But we still have a choice.#MLK50Forward pic.twitter.com/cMevB1es3C

It really sucks not to be surprised at this. Really sucks. My thoughts and prayers go to his family. My words, actions, deeds, and votes go to trying to make sure this doesn’t happen again. #AltonSterling #BlackLivesMatter #MarchForOurLives https://t.co/awgPlqhUMR

Alton Sterling’s death was yet another example of police brutality against people of color.
And today’s news is another example of our country├óΓé¼Γäós systemic failure to hold law enforcement accountable for deadly use of force. #BlackLivesMatter https://t.co/2Lb4JeMSrp
