Amber Portwood lied about a pregnancy scare on the newest episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. What the heck else has she lied about over the course of the various Teen Mom series??
On Tuesday’s episode of the MTV reality show, Amber’s ex Gary Wayt decided she didn’t need to be involved in getting their daughter Leah‘s driving permit because she wasn’t responding to his texts:
“I’ve messaged Amber a few times, no reply. A person with bipolar disorder, there’s up and downs. And when she’s up, she’s feeling good, she might think everything’s perfect and want things a certain way, like, ‘Oh, I really am sorry, but now I want you to instantly forgive me for years and years of abandonment.'”
He went on to say it’s not “worth it” for their daughter, who he has custody of, to have a relationship with her mom:
“It don’t work that way. I want Leah to have a relationship with her mother … but at this point, it’s really not even enough to feel like it’s worth it.”
Sad. But there’s some truth to what he said, as Amber herself admitted she was in a bit of a down spot.

When camera crews showed up to her house to film her segment of the show, she refused to let them in. She did hint at the drama that was keeping her off camera though… she asked one of the producers for a pregnancy test! WHOA! She said:
“I’m freaking out. Can we just do this tomorrow before I cry and go sit in the corner? Don’t want all of them in here.”
When the producer asked if she thought she could be pregnant, the 34-year-old spilled:
“It’s possible. It was an ex. I’m freaked out right now. I’m scared. Just pray for me that I wasn’t too much of jackass.”
WOW! The film crew then left her alone for a while, but when they returned she dropped a bombshell: she never even took the test she asked for. She wasn’t worried she was preggers at all! The 16 & Pregnant alum said:
“No, sorry. There’s been many times in my life where I’ve had to lie in order to get out of doing things because I’m not able to get ready, get dressed, move around, do anything. You just lie to people and say, ‘I’m busy, I have this sickness,’ you want to make up something to where they’re like, ‘We’re not going to do anything,’ ‘You don’t have to film.'”
Amber then admitted she never thought she was pregnant, she’s just “in the darkest” place:
“When you start lying in order to be alone, that’s me in the darkest.”
But why did she get in such a dark place and start lying? Gary’s disappearance ahead of their split, when she was basically being accused of murder when all that basically happened is the guy ghosted her:
“I’m more than heartbroken. I’m f**ked up from what he did to me. We’re talking trauma. Being told you’re a murderer and thinking your fiancé is dead. I did not sleep for four days, I did not eat.”
So sad…
Those were some very disturbing and unsettling things she was being accused of, it’s understandable why it would still be affecting her. Plus, her strained relationship with her children, as well as her mental health issues, are definitely a factor. All the while filming a reality show…
Amber went on to say she doesn’t “know what’s going to happen” regarding her relationship with her kids, Leah and James. She said she fought hard for a relationship with her son, but her daughter is a much different case:
“With my daughter, she doesn’t want to be around me. I’m understanding right now that I don’t have a choice.”
As for the future, she says she’s going to focus on “trying to figure out how I’m gonna wait for my daughter and not be a horrifically depressed person”:
“I’ve never been a mom that didn’t care. Just a f**ked up mom.”
We truly hope Amber can get the help she deserves and can get to a better place. Thoughts, Perezcious readers?
